Welcome to the Buxton Model Engineering Society
The Buxton Model Engineering Society (B.M.E.S.) is a friendly club for anyone interested in model engineering — whether you are an experienced engineer or simply curious about the hobby. New members are always welcome.
When & Where We Meet
We meet on the first Thursday of each month (except December) at The Cheshire Cheese, 37–39 High Street, Buxton, SK17 6HA — starting at 8pm.
Meetings include a wide variety of speakers, talks, video evenings, and discussions about projects members are working on.
Membership
Our membership ranges in age from 16 to 89, bringing a huge variety of topics and experience. No model making experience is required — some members come purely to enjoy the talks and discussion, while others seek technical advice or share their work.
Many members have joined with little or no engineering experience and have gone on to produce beautiful models — see our Member Projects area.
